The Kruger National Park - where they come to you ...

You’re not even surprised… only the second animal after you’ve passed through the park gates. The first was a splended male elephant with beautiful tusks. And now there's a bunch of spotted dogs next to your car.

You cheer, and if you can, you scream how happy you are. This is the encounter you long for, which you fervently desire, and which doesn't come very often. The spotted beauties are shy. They have no taste for, and probably no time, to be taken in. This is an exceptional moment. They rest by the road in the grass wet with the night rain. They're probably been running. And so you quietly cheer, take pictures and thank your foresight for being there!

And your friends in the car are watching and have no idea why you're out of your mind with this. Only in time do they get to know what they’ve been through. That's when they’ll tell anyone who’ll listen that they've met hyenas. Only from the eager eyes of those who find out this way will they read how precious this moment was.

And when some animal walks, he really walks. Not just dogs. The other day I was telling my friends with whom I’d measured the Tugela waterfall, how hopeless it is for them to look forward to a leopard. And then we met one four times on one day. The same this year. Three encounters with dogs were a beautiful exception, confirming the impression that these spotted beauties have been waiting for years – just for us.

Martin Šíl – for Bushman

Martin ŠílThe Kruger National Park is the oldest African wildlife park (1898), in which tourists like to enjoy the vista like a real safari. In addition to the whole ‘Big Five’ (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard) you will find 147 species of mammals, over 500 bird species and over 100 species of reptiles. It is therefore a legend among African reservations. Whoever succumbs to its spell is destined to return.

Martin Šíl also succumbed to its spell and returns here again for photo expeditions for breathtaking pictures of rare animals. One of them is the hyena. They are the most feared of African beasts (with up to 80% success in hunting). When chasing prey, they can develop a speed of up to 55 km / h. The daily dose of food is 3 to 6 kg. It is one of the most endangered species, with about 4,000 specimens left in the wild.

Martin Šíl, traveller, photographer, father of four children and a great lover of southern Africa. In almost twenty years, he has travelled to South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Namibia, Mozambique and Botswana, which he also talks about in his lectures. He was the first Czech to question the primacy of the highest waterfall in the world and, with a professional team, he measured the South African Tugela Falls and got it to the top of the rankings.

And as the author himself says: “I’ve had great travel experiences wearing my Bushman Pretoria shirt. Forget T-shirts, with just one shirt you might be totally in the dust and heat of Africa - yet in total peace."

The BUSHMAN Pretoria shirt will be useful not only for expeditions... for catching photos of rare hyena dogs for example, but also for much longer or even shorter expeditions. It is light, comfortable and its softness is further enhanced by a special enzymatic wash. It also has a unique characteristic appearance: sewn with double rows of stitches, which is standard, and which is also particularly stylish while contributing to the durability of the shirt.

Thanks to its free folds, your shirt will not pull over your back, even when moving fast. You’ve got to be continually on the lookout for the right angle, that choice shot on your photo expedition and you need to focus on completely different perceptions. And you can store, for example, a lens cap in the practical pockets on the front with button flaps. You will not leave anyone in doubt that you’ve chosen tradition, quality and distinctive style for yourself as well as respecting Nature around you.

"When I first put on this jacket, I was virtually gob-smacked. It fitted like a glove. The jacket is really well designed. The way Bushman has gone works in the city as well as in the bush, and that's a very good thing, especially for the necessities of the type for a wallet: mobile phone, glasses, pad with pencil. And to add to the current trend – two strips of Velcro over the pockets allow you to identify yourself and with expedition patches."

Lightweight, practical, with a military touch - equally ideal for the city or for nature trips. This is exactly the BUSHMAN Detroit jacket. Its shirt cut with a collar and precisely elaborated details underline the wearer's distinctive style. Plus, what a piece, it's truly original! The jacket is sewn from so-called ripstop, which is a cotton canvas which, thanks to its weave, optically creates a specific structure of small cubes. Ripstop is airy and yet very strong.
